So here are some of my favorite pieces of media that are so good but not many knew about it (imo)

Irisu Syndrome is a simple puzzle game at first glance, but it deals with crazy fourth wall breaking moments and also tells the story of crazy people and their drama. This game is truly one of a kind.

This is honestly becoming my comfort game due to its OST and the fact that I can just turn my brain off as I play.

Developer: Parun

Honestly, one of my favorite horror RPG maker games ever, like ever. But this game is pretty hard to recommend because of its heavy topics. The graphics aren't really top notch and it's so absurd at times, but there's just something about it that's so dear to me. The gameplay itself is fun and I like that little things can permanently kill your party members.

RIP Parun, I truly love your work.

Developer: Buriki Clock

This game is so much fun, I honestly need to replay it. Not only its gameplay, but the story is so intriguing and so much fun to read. I forgot some things because I played this when I was a teen, but the fact that I still remember the characters and plot twists vividly is a testament to how good it is.

Developer: ADELTA

I only liked this VN a normal amount when I first finished it, but I fell in love with it on my second read through. There's just something about its vibes, characters, and world that's so captivating to me. I also really adore Kurosawa Rinko's style of writing, from Hashihime (their previous work, and their most popular one) and now UUULTRA C. They might be bad at writing endings, but the way they write everything else is just so beautiful and poetic. The way that there are CGs every 10 seconds is also crazy to me like how tf does one do that?

I can't talk about Fantasy Maiden's Odd Hideout without mentioning Cloe's Requiem. I think this game is buriki clock's most popular game (cmiiw). I'll be honest, I've never played this myself because the game didn't work on my pc for whatever reason, but the story is good. It's tragic, just the way I like it lol.

Apparently there's a remake too, I need to go check it out.

Developer: Suika Bar

This one is fun. There are total of three games in the series and I like them all (I like the second one the most, just because it feels the most detective-ish). The first case serves as a good introduction to the series, and the games that follow are pretty consistent with the set up and themes of the first, yet still tries to do their own things that make each cases unique. I like the chemistry between the MCs a lot. There's also a brief moment of fanservice that's so funny to me like they really made a CG just for that LMAO.

Developer: Stardust KRNKRN

This game was made by the same creator of Angels of Death. Ngl, I never understood why Angels of Death was so much more popular than The Forest of Drizzling Rain. The concept for Angels of Death is much more interesting and it's way more fun gameplay wise, sure, but the story for The Forest of Drizzling Rain is better. They're both good in their own ways and I just wished people gave this game much more love too.

The remake of this game is even better than the original. The daytime gameplay is so comfy and lulls you into a sense of security, making the later events in game much more impactful and horrifying. The backstory beind the legend is really vile as well, so heads up as this game deals with heavy topics like SA, child death, torture, etc.

THIS GAME IS SO CRAZY LMAOO

I remember the most unhinged shit happening in this game. The crazy family drama, the out of the box plot twist. God there are so many anime things that happened here. Everyone aside from the MC is sooo hateable and punchable, you'd be looking forward to seeing this whole family burn down to the ground. And some of the endings still haunts me to this very day, I can remember it so vividly. It's a blast through and through.
